Good Friday and Easter

From the North of Lincoln: setting off from Bailgate Methodist Church at 11.30 am.  Please note there is a Service beforehand at Bailgate Methodist at 10.30 am.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

From the South of Lincoln: setting off from the Salvation Army Citadel at 11.30 am.  There are Services beforehand at the Salvation Army at 9.45 am; at Central Methodist at 10.30 am; and Stations of the Cross at St.Peter at Gowts at 10 am.  Anyone may attend any of these services before starting on the walk.

From the East of Lincoln: setting off from opposite St.Swithin's at 11.45 am.  Anyone may attend Stations of the Cross at St.Hugh's, Monks Road, at 11 am, before setting off.

From the West of Lincoln: setting off from the Quaker Meeting House on Beaumont Fee at 11.45 am.  You are welcome to attend a reflective Service beforehand at Trinity URC at 11 am (Garmston Street, St.Martin's Square), or the Good Friday workshop at St. Faith's (in preparation for their afternoon Service at 2 pm).  We would be very grateful for more support for the Western Arm of the Walking Cross.  This has been the least well supported walk during the past few years.

For those who are unable to join a walk, but wish to be present for the Civic Service in the centre of Lincoln, please gather near the war memorial just before 12 noon.  The Service lasts about half an hour.

Parking is available at St.Hugh's carpark off Friars Lane, via Unity Square, but all visiting cars must be moved by 2 pm.

During Good Friday afternoon, the three Catholic Churches will all celebrate the Solemn Liturgy of the Lord's Passion at 3 pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

Other Services: many of our churches will commemorate the Lord's Supper on Maundy Thursday evening, and move from sombre to joyous mode at the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening, as well as the full celebration of Easter next morning.  Check out the web sites of individual churches for times of Services.

If you wish to experience a dawn Service on Easter Day in a countryside setting, there is a 6.30 am Service at the little pre-Reformation church of St.Edith, at Coates-by-Stow, LN1 2DW.
